Taranis Power Group were awarded the Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) contract by EDL to design and build the 11.4MW Jabiru Hybrid Renewable Power Station in January 2021.

The Hybrid Renewable Power Station delivers sustainable energy for the remote township of Jabiru, as the community transitions from its mining legacy to its future as a tourism and services hub.

The project will integrate 3.9MW solar generation (supplied by others) and a 3MW/5MWh battery, with 4.5MW diesel generation to balance sustainability with reliability.

The hybrid power station will provide Jabiru with at least 50% renewable energy over the long term—contributing to the Northern Territory’s 2030 50% renewable energy target.

The diesel power station was completed at the end of 2021, and the solar farm and battery system came online in early 2022.
